oil leak

I have a bad oil leak from the output shaft that runs into the front of my rear driveshaft. This will soak my park brake with oil in no time if I don’t get it fixed. Does anyone have a modern part number for this seal so that I might get one at the local parts store. Any hints on how this seal comes out or on how to best install a new one??
My 1952 M38A1 is close to going on the road and I don’t want to mess up my park brake rebuild, so any help will be appreciated.

I assume you are describing the transfer case rear output shaft and yoke. If you remove the yoke you will usually see a slight groove worn in it where the lip of the seal was riding. If you have a very slight indent here then just positioning the new seal slightly out more so the seal's lip rides on the ungrooved area will work. There is a redi-sleeve available that can be slid over that yoke's shaft to return it to a smooth flat surface just a tad larger in diameter and making for a firmer seal with the seal's lip. There are a standard single lip replacement seal and a new double lip seal. The redi-sleeve should have a very light film of blue RTV on it's inner surface. The outer circumference of the seal's metal shell should also get a very light film of blue RTV. There is a felt seal that covers the rubber lipped seal to keep dust and dirt out. Oil it's inner edge and install it . Now apply a thin film of blue RTV to the yoke's splines and then a light grease to the outer surface of the yoke and install it. Here's my notes on this topic:

Sleeve is National Federal Mogul 99156, seal is Federal Mogul 473229.
Sleeve was about $32.00. Plan on replacing them this morning using two
large internal snap rings I bought from a hardware store to shim the seal
out. This is all in Rick Stivers rebuild guide. Ted
