m38 front driever seat and front buttom cushion diemensions?

Post by baios »

please can someone tell me the diemensions from the m38 front driver seat and specific what is showing on the photo

Image

Also the front cushion what is the height of the bottom one as is showing on the photo

Why I m asking is because i have put new set of cushions in my m38 and the drivers seat is now a little height and that makes me to look not in the center of the windshield but much more upper!!!!! I want to know if the problem is from the cushion or from the seat because when i was restoring my m38 my friend told me that he will use the passenger seat and will modify it!!!

My original drivers seat frame is about 10 3/4" from the floor to the underside of the frame just in back of the front leg. I have the original steel coil spring cushions - they are about 4 1/2" tall from the lower edge to the top of cushion in the middle of the seat.

Something to keep in mind is that back in the 40s and 50s people were on average shorter than they are today by several inches.
