Is their supposed to be weatherstripping or a welting of some kind between the back of the hood (underside) where it mates with the body when the hood is closed, on a 1952 M-38? It sure doesn't look like it. Just wanted to be sure.
Thanks,
Jordan

weatherstrip
There is a small gutter like piece that bolts on with the hood hinge. It is supposed to keep some of the water off the engine. Some vendors have them but Right now I can't remember just who. I have one that I took off of a 61 DJ3a but it's not for sale.

Ron Fitzpatrick has those bolt-on gutters. I guess the other vendors will too.
The M38 never had one; waterproof engine and all that. If you're intending to fit one to an M38, you'll need to figure a way for it to fit around the bracket for the right side fording cable.
