I need to send my M38 dual action fuel pump in for a rebuild. Can anyone reccomend a civilian replace pump that I can use in the interim. It will take several weeks for the rebuild and I don't want to be down over July 4th.

Any single action pump for the L134 will work. Just ask the desk jock for a single action fuel pump for a 1942 thru 1968 MB, CJ-2A, -3A, or DJ-3A with the L134 engine.

Take photos of your current pump installation making sure you can see clearly the location of each fitting for the hose and tubes. Do not send those fittings with the fuel pump for it's overhaul.

Also plug the vacuum lines.

If you have a hand pump lever and/or the center pump body vent fittings don't leave the fittings on the pump and specify to the rebuilder you wish to retain the hand pump function.

Also take note about the civilian pump not using the spacer block and the double acting pump using one. John
