2 Questions about Oil pressure and about gear box M38

Post by Herrmann_Sherman »

Hi out there in the Jeep-land 8)
my two questions are as follows:

Is it normal that my oil pressure gauge is whipping a little bit (1 Milimeter)?

Second question is:
I´ve got a used gear box from a friend which was formely installed in a WW2 Jeep. As that guy removed the gear box he sadly pulled out the drive shaft an I think all the gear wheels sliped out.
Can I simply stick them together ? Or are they connected in a special way?
They guy told me that the gear box was running fine and with no noise before...

Thank you for your ideas.
regards

Needle fluctuation on the electric military gauges can be a bad indicator or a worn/loose connection including a loose instrument panel grounding.

A WWII gearbox would not be a T90. If the WWII jeep had been converted to a T90 then it should work ok for you. It will depend on which shaft he removed and which gears and/or needle bearings fell out of place.
