Mystery parts

The pair of handles came in a parts lot of unrelated items.
The larger one was bought at an antique store. The handle appears identical to the MB pivot thumb bolt for the windshield. It looks similar to an M38 top bow thumb bolt, but had the extra bearing/boss near the threads, and is fine thread.

Can anyone shed some light on these?
Thanks,
Brian

These handles fit the M-Series 2 1/2 and 5 ton windshield and were first found on the CJ2As.

Hello Harold,
Thanks for the information.
Any idea as to the single handle with the lever mechanism?
Thanks,
Brian

As was just posted above the two thumb screws are the same as the thumb screw in the windshield adjusting assembly. The windshield adjusting assembly is used on the M37 and the 50's 2.5T and 5T trucks.

Here the adjusting assemblies can be seen on each side of my M37 windshield.

The thumb screws are also the same as the top bow retaining screws aren't they?

Wes,
That all three were identical is what I thought when I found that thumb screw adjusting assembly yesterday. It being OD green, and given the price, figured it needed to be somewhere else than on that shelf anyway.
However, after getting it home and comparing with the two other thumb screws they look similar but are not the same. The two thumb screws appear to be just a little smaller and thinner, have a much smoother finish, and lack the round raised boss or flange and the bearing area below the threads. All three appear to be the same threads.
That being said, unless these three items have a place on my M38 and someone else would like to have them please let me know.
Thanks,
Brian

That last photo finally puts both thumb screws in the same perspective and we can now see the difference you were trying to verbalize. Looks like either one will do the job and it was not uncommon for two different suppliers to sell two different looking items to the Army to do the same job and meet the same spec.

Thanks Wes that clarifies things.
The pair are very nice. They appear to be forged compared to the other one that appears cast.
These are not useable for top bows for an M38, correct?
Take care,
Brian
