I don't know about that but I would like to replace mine on my 55. 14 leafs hang down to far like to change out to 4 or 5 leafs

To help with your topic, I would suggest using aftremarket springs meant for a CJ5. Like Rancho springs. They will have the necessary bushing and shackle adapters and are the more modern type 3 to 5 leaf springs. The CJ 5 to 8 leaf sets can also be adapted to your jeep.

wasnt meaning to hi jack his post, I just read his got me to thinking about those springs . figured didn't need another topic about springs so I figured put it their, as far as after market how would they compare to ride height . would a 1 to 2 inch lift with say rancho springs be to the ride height of the stock military springs

Close. I don't see a 1 or 2" ride height change in any older jeep as a very noticeable change.
Generally tagging a question that reasonably follows the original question is fine. Tagging a question that goes down another path confuses the thread. In technical discussions most folks prefer to stay very close to the original topic as they share information and learn from each other.
