I am rebuilding a 1953 M38A1. The engine s/n is RMD 93816. What does the R stand for?

R = Rebuilt / Re-manufactured

Wrong answer! RMDXXXXX is a factory replacement engine for the M38A1. MDXXXXX would be an original factory installed engine.
