hood number prefix

I have m38 sn mc 68879. I have sanded through the layers of paint and found hood number C20943980 on the drivers side in white. The passenger side was to badly sanded from previous paintings to make out all the numbers.
My question is what might the C prefix be. The C is out of alignment like it was added later. My other question is where can I add sn and hood number to your data base as I belive it is correct at least without the prefix.

Brian, I emailed you a M38 survey form. That hood number is very much in the ballpark for your M38's date of delivery. The "C" is odd and maybe someone here on the site has seen it used before.
