Ys carburetor rebuild question

I am rebuilding my m38a1 ys carburetor and have hit a small snag.
All the parts in the kit make sense and match up with what i disassembled except one.
The kit has a really small pin about a half inch long and very tiny diameter.
I have looked at two exploded diagrams and can find this pin nowhere.
I have looked at other kits on the internet from other suppliers and this pin is included in their kits.
I did not remove a pin like this from my carburetor.
This pin is silver in color and much smaller than the float retaining pin.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank

I assume the pin you are referring to is the one about center, just left of the two metering rods.

Or the one just above the metering rod here.

If yes then I believe it is EE in the parts illustration below which secures the metering rod to the diaphragm.

Thanks wes,
That must be it . When I disassembled my carb that pin was not there and the metering rod was bent.
Im guessing you are correct,I'll finish the rebuild tomorrow thanks to your help.

Also take a sharp xacto knife and carve out the holes in the new gaskets to match the carb body. Some gaskets can be as much as a half hole off.A friend recently found this out on a M38 carb. where it drastically effected the off idle circuit.
