gas filter

Post by pacho »

Hi,
I want to add a gas filter in my m38a1, because during the last year I had problems in the carb. Any suggestions or advise? Where is the best place to install? Photos will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Your A1 already has a gas filter in the tank. Pull it out and see what shape it and your tank is in. If you discover it is missing get a new one and install it where it belongs. If the tank is rusty inside remove it and have it cleaned up. Adding one more filter further downstream is a band aid that will only add to your problems later.

Image Item M is the filter for fule feed and Item K is the pickup tube. Inspect that tube for corrosion pin holes which will effect fuel delivery.
