So I finally got my M170 running like a top. Got distributor parts replaced yesterday, and took her out for a spin. Went over a bump, and all my lights went out, and wont come back on. What is the logical progression to find the source of the problem?

Also...rust prevention. There is a product called RPM (Rust Prevention Magic).
Cheap, easy to apply, and works wonders. I put it in my battery box, and no longer have to worry about corrosion. So I now applied it all over my jeep, and have no corrosion whatsoever. The stuff is acid proof, waterproof, salt proof. Easy to apply and invisible. Absorb into bare metal, but works well on painted surfaces too. The website is www.ecsautomotive.com if you want to check it out.

Bad ground.

See item number 2. Did you put that stuff on before grounding everything?

The key is the phrase "all my lights went out". There is not one ground that is used for all the lights. Each lamp has it's own ground. For as you said "Al my lights went out" then each light assemblies ground had to go bad all at the same time!

So start with the big round plug on the back of your light switch. Is it loose?

As for the miracle whip rust preventative, it is new on the market so I would wait for some testamonials to surface before I covered my whole jeep with it.
Also reading the instructions it is for use on bare metal only. You may be very unlucky and have all your jeep's paint start peeling off or bubbling up!
