Fording vent valves

In the G740 ORD 9 parts manual several valves are shown for the ventilation control valves.:

7375172, 8393083, and 7410836 are listed for the air intake (crossover pipe) to oil filler. 7375172 and 7410836 both show a pin, but 8393083 does not.

7372553 and 7372752 are listed for the intake manifold to valve cover line. Both of these valves specify w/o pin.

What are the differences between these valves? What purpose does the pin serve? Can any of these valves be used in both locations if not doing a factory class restoration?
