Looking for another, used one. A guy is offering me this one:

But I´m not sure, is it a M38 steering box or a Willys MB..if its a MB-steering box will she fit to my M38...the same question: Will a M38A1 steering box fit to my M38...I´m a little unsure because of the sensitivity and the radius...??

Somebody here helping me a little bit?
Many thanks
HS

See pg 124 of Ryan's M38 resto guide. That's an early M38 box.

Thank you RICKG.

The thing is that I could get a M38A1 steering box for a much lower price so I´m a little unsure what to do...?
The one on top is sandblasted....

The guts of the A1 box are a bit different, I can't remember which way it is but one box turns faster that the other. It still works it is just something to think about.

If you look in your M38 service manuals the steering gear box ratio is listed there. If you want to know how that differs on the M38A1 just look in the steering chapter of the M38A1 service manuals. You can download any of these manuals free on our downloads page.

If you purchase Ryan's M38 restoration guide the answers are in there as well.

References you should be using are:
