Exhaust manifold painting --- or dry graphite?

I was thinking I'd paint my new exhaust manifold with some of that high temp primer and paint but discovered it requires curing in the wife's oven for several hours.

Or, I came across this that looks like a pretty good alternative:

Supposed to be good to 850 degrees.

Has anybody tried using aerosol dry graphite lube with good results?

PB Blaster and CRC make some. Have to see if my local auto parts store carries it. Cheaper than primer and paint and won't stink up the house for 4 hours then have to scrub the oven afterwards to keep the missus from launching on me .

There is automotive header paint in rattle cans.

I just used some black BBQ paint off the shelf at the store. It's held up pretty good so far.

X2 on the BBQ paint. It just dries a little dusty.

I used Rust-Oleum High Temperature paint on my M38 exhaust manifold. Sprays on like conventional paint - for applications up to 1000 degrees. The pic is from about 2 years ago, the manifold looks the same today. Works well!

How did your gray paint hold up at the heat box to exh manifold joint? Can you post a closeup of that area?

Looks like sand-blasted iron and last forever... Brush application is easy and requires not disassembly and I always cured it with own manifold heat during use!!!

Wes - Here is a closeup of the heat box/manifold area. The grey paint is regular spray paint and is holding up well. The black paint on the exhaust manifold is High Temp paint. Note: the engine block is painted gray - it looks darker because it is in deep shadow, the steering gear is OD.
