M38A1 Replacement fuel pump

I have been working on slowing down some of the oil leaks on my new (to me) Jeep. While it was leaking quite a bit of oil, the oil level never seemed to go down. It has been pointed out to me that there is quite possibly a leak in the fuel pump. The oil also is a bit thin has a "gassy" smell to it. Right now the fuel pump on the jeep is one with the upside down glass bowl on top which I believe is a commercial replacement. I would like to find an original but: 1) have no original core for trade-in; and 2) my wipers have been converted to electric and there is no fording system, so do I need an original? If so, any recommendations where to find one or a core? If not, any recommendations a good, suitable replacement fuel pump? I have read several not so good comments about "omix-ada" fuel pumps.
Also, I'm not sure about the filler tube installation and dipstick length on my Jeep. Which leads to two more questions: 1) how high should the top of the filler tube be above the engine block opening? and 2) how long is an original M38A1 dipstick from top to tip?
Thanks in advance,
jetjock
