Ramsey D8000 Winches on M38A1?

Does anyone know anything about the Ramsey D8000 winch installation that was done on the M38A1 Jeeps? I THINK they may have also been preformed on some M38 jeeps. I've seen a number of these and they all appear to be identical and to have been done by the same person or company and I've been told that they were done by Ramsey for the USMC. Note that these are different than the Model 50 winch installations as shown at http://willysmjeeps.com/downloads/Ramse ... .M38A1.pdf. For one thing, all of the D8000 winch installation that I have seen use forged fairlead assembly instead of the ones made of steel strap as shown in the Model 50 instructions.
Besides just trying to learn more about how the D8000 setup came about; what I really need to know is if the PTO drive shaft is a three piece affair with a roller bearing or is it a two piece shaft with just one bearing hanger as was used on the commercial CJ-5s? My M38A1 has the D8000 winch but is missing the PTO shaft and I need to make one of have one made but I need to find out which type it's supposed to have first.
Also does anyone know of any place that can build the proper PTO shaft and/or have any idea of what it would costs?
I'm also looking to see if anyone knows if the M38 and M38A1 PTO shafts were the same lengths or are they different?
