M38a1 exhaust flex pipe

Hello colleagues,
I have a 1970 Canadian Three M38a1 and I am working out some noises from below. My exhaust is stock and in good condition. It surprises me that the exhaust does not have a flex portion and...is not mounted on a rubber hanger. I wonder sometime if I hear a flexing exhaust system. The clamps that secure the system to the frame are currently tight and allow no movement. I thought engines move perpendicular to the length wise frame. Therefore how could exhaust be rigidly attached. I appreciate very much your thoughts. Stay safe. Jay. London Ontario Canada.
