Rear Jerry can holder spacers question for M38a1

OK, more questions (sorry Wes) It looks to be required spacers for the jerry can mount. I think in the past I saw this mentioned. I have spent to many duckets on the Jeep already so if there are spacers what are they made from, maybe I can fabricate some up and have more money for the fuel tank !

Internet search shows:
Steel
ID 0.3900 INCHES MINIMUM AND 0.4210 INCHES MAXIMUM
OD 0.9840 INCHES MINIMUM AND 1.0150 INCHES MAXIMUM
LN 0.6250 INCHES NOMINAL
Enjoy, I'm sure aluminum would also work as well!

Bill's correct except the manual reference. M38A1 ORD 9 page 339. Dimensions there are in US Inch. ID-13/32", OD-1.0", Lg.-5/8"

These defenitly look like something I cam make. Yes, I'll use aluminum round stock. One more thing to do ! The stress is on, Tower Park is around the corner

The only problem with aluminum is dissimilar metal corrosion. If you prime the new spacers with zinc-chromate or zinc-phosphate and finish coat them to match the jeep then use cadmium plated bolts you should have no short term corrosion problems.
